The MDM Track at OAUG COLLABORATE 11
I’ve been a volunteer member of the Education Committee of the Oracle Applications Users Group (OAUG) for several years now, serving as the “track manager” for Master Data Management (MDM).
Part of the Education Committee’s responsibility is to help plan the annual user conference, and the track managers (working closely with the Special Interest Group coordinators within their tracks) help develop the content for the conference. The Call for Papers ended Oct. 1, 2010, and this year, we had a lot of good submissions. Working with Mani Kumar Manda from Rhapsody Technologies, who is the SIG Coordinator for the OAUG’s Customer Data Management SIG, we went through the “Room Build” process and submitted our final roster of speakers on Nov. 18th.
And now the COLLABORATE 11 conference is coming up fast (April 10-14, Orlando, FL)! The MDM Track this year promises to be an absolute stunner. We’ll be covering both Customer MDM and Product MDM, as well as topics like Data Governance, Best Practices, Oracle Product Hub, Oracle Site Hub, Oracle Data Quality Management and Party Merge, Oracle Data Relationship Management, Credit Management, and many more.
There are a total of 28 different MDM-related sessions. For your convenience, I put together a handy downloadable guide to the Master Data Management Track at OAUG COLLABORATE 11.
My session, substantially updated from last year, will be on Wednesday, April 13th at 10:30-11:30 am, in Room W304H. The session ID is 7870 and the topic will be “Best Practices and Advanced Topics in Master Data Management and Data Governance”.
There will be four sessions by Oracle executives:
- David Butler, MDM Marketing at Oracle, on Monday at 10:30-11:30 am, will cover “The Strategic Nature of Master Data Management (MDM)”
- Later on Monday, at 1:15pm–2:15pm, Tarun Dhawan from Oracle will discuss “Synchronizing Master Data Across Applications a Challenge: NOT ANY MORE!”
- On Tuesday, Edgar Arroyo, Sangeetha Mani and James Phipps from Oracle will cover “Supporting Oracle Product Hub – Master Data Management”
- On Wednesday, at 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm, Manoj Tahiliani from Oracle will present the always-popular “Oracle MDM Strategy and Roadmap”
Please register for COLLABORATE 11 if you haven’t already. This conference is always one of the best each year that I attend, and in addition to seeing so many people that it feels like a class reunion, I always manage to learn so much that I feel like I attended a five-day long graduate school.
If you are planning to attend, please let me know via our Contact Us page, so we can make plans to get together.
